For non-serious conditions that you want to find out more about contact NHS Direct on 0845 4647, who have a range of specialists on hand to answer your queries and give you further information. NHS Direct is particularly useful if you have a sick child and are not sure whether to take him or her to the hospital.
Bristol Royal Infirmary has an accident and emergency department based at Marlborough Street. Bristol Royal Infirmary is the largest hospital in the region and contains a dental and eye clinic (that can also deal with emergencies) and an oncology and dermatology department on site.
If you'd prefer to go private Bupa has two hospitals in Bristol. One is the main Bupa hospital in the area based at The Glen, Redland Hill, Durdham Down, which can treat a range of injuries and offers surgergy, the other is The Bupa Women's Health Centre based at Wallace House, Pembroke Road, Clifton.
