The Bristol Hippodrome
An innovative and exciting fusion of Irish and International dance, Riverdance propels traditional dance and music into the present day, capturing the imagination of audiences across all ages and cultures. The spring opening of the University of Bristol Botanic Garden, Stoke Bishop takes place on Good Friday 2 April 2010, with an eye-catching exhibition and sale of original botanical art by noted local artists. There will be a wide range of paintings, drawings, prints and cards.

Westonbirt Easter Challenge

Walk with Beefy
Ashton Court Estate
Sir Ian Botham will be walking for 10 consecutive days through 10 towns. Beefy will begin each day’s walk outside the town's M&S and then walk to the local park where you can join him and his celebrity friends. 1 – 31 April: Daffodil Days. Enjoy the first signs of Spring in the garden as Tyntesfield bursts into life with a stunning array of daffodils and bluebells.
17 April: Bluebell Woodland Walk. Explore the stunning array of bluebells in Tyntesfield's Truckle Wood on these guided walks with the Warden. £5 includes a hot drink from the Kiosk (10.30 am or 2pm, booking required).
Until 30 April: "Searching for Spring" Children's Trail. Enjoy the kids' garden trail, exploring the nature and wildlife in the gardens during the first signs of Spring.
Until End of October: Garden Tours. Enjoy a free guided tour of the formal gardens or Kitchen Garden. Meet by the Aviary. Tours run Saturday to Wednesday and last approximately one hour - normal admisson charges apply. No booking required.

10 April: Guided Walk. Enjoy a guided walk with expert Ed Drewitt and listen to bird song and spot native and rare species (booking essential).
25 April: Avon Valley Walk. Enjoy a guided walk through St Anne’s Woods, Nightingale Valley, Eastwood Farm, Conham and Dundridge Park, finishing at Troopers Hill. There is the opportunity for lunch at Beese’s Riverside Bar & Tea Gardens or bring a picnic (booking essential).

Westonbirt Arboretum
12 – 16 April: Awakening Woods. With Spring in full swing, why not venture out to discover the awakening woodland - from buds bursting and rising sap, to colourful blooms and wildflower carpets - explore the changes that occur amongst the trees at this time. Then create your own spring crafts. 10.30am to 4.00pm.
12 – 13 April: Westonbirt Estate Heritage Open Days. A rare and exciting opportunity for visitors to discover the whole historic Westonbirt estate with access to the house, gardens and arboretum.
14 April: Wildflower Walks. Discover the wealth of wildflowers growing at Westonbirt. Not suitable for children under 10.

13 & 14 April: Hands on… Colour Crazy. The museum is full of colourful objects – create some colourful masks and collages related to some of our dazzling displays.

Arnolfini is planning the first solo, museum-scale exhibition in the UK of work by Liverpool-based artist, Imogen Stidworth.

Arnolfini
Arnolfini is commissioning artist Otto Zitko to produce his first solo exhibition in the UK. He will produce an ambitious drawing-based architectural intervention especially for the Arnolfini’s exhibition and circulation space.

Reserve Collection Open Day

This is the only occasion when the Museum's Reserve Collection will be on public display. See behind the scenes in our climate-controlled hangar called Cobham Hall. See over 30 rare examples of aircraft and numerous artefacts including confiscated vehicles and weapons from the Falklands and Gulf Wars.

Sanity Assasin Exhibition
Spike Island
Spike Island presents the first major solo show in a public gallery by London based artist Amanda Beech (1972). Beech was awarded the main production residency for UK artists at Spike Island in 2009 which contributed to the making of her new body of work Sanity Assassin.
